A Youtuber is trending for a good deed towards an 80-year-old woman who collects recyclables to make a living.
Kimbro, a 'charity content' Youtuber with 1.14 million subscribers, uploaded a video on the 23rd of last month titled 'What happens if you give a credit card to a recycling grandma'.
The video shows him gifting an 'unlimited credit card', daily necessities, and cash to a 85-year-old elderly woman living alone who collects recyclables for a living. He handed her the credit card, saying, 'I hope you can buy whatever you want to buy today.'
The grandma cautiously asked multiple times if she could really use it, but followed Kimbro's guidance to a nearby large supermarket to start shopping. She shared her difficult daily life, saying, 'I collect recyclables every day except Sundays,' and 'Sometimes I earn 3,000 won a day, and sometimes I don't.'
At first, she hesitated, only putting minimal necessities like detergent and ramen in her cart, saying, 'I feel bad spending a lot of money.' However, as Kimbro repeatedly encouraged her, saying, 'You can buy everything you want,' she slowly started picking out items she needed. Kimbro also helped by personally selecting essential items like sirloin steak, soy milk, eggs, Shine Muscat grapes, detergent, and kitchenware.
The grandma smiled brightly, saying, 'This is the first time in my 85 years of life something like this has happened.'
"Netizens are touched by the Youtuber's heartwarming act, with some calling it beautiful and thanking him, while others debate the nature of good deeds and potential downsides, though most agree it's better than no action at all. 😂"
