Rockstar announced they fired around 40 employees suspected of leaking confidential info on Discord.
"We have taken action against a small number of individuals for disseminating and discussing confidential information on public forums. This was a clear violation of our policies and is not related to union organizing or activities," they stated.
However, the UK Independent Workers' Union pushed back, saying all the fired employees were involved in union activities at Rockstar and called the firings "one of the most blatant and ruthless acts of union busting in the history of the gaming industry."
They added that all the affected employees were in a private union chat on Discord, and the only outsiders in that chat were union organizers.
"Gamers are wildin' over Rockstar's mass firings, with some saying it's union busting and others just finding it hilarious."
