[Long Post Warning, Long!] NMIXX 1ST WORLD TOUR EPISODE 1: ZERO FRONTIER Review

NMIXX's first solo concert has successfully wrapped up. Whenever I write a review, I usually just jot down my immediate feelings on the day of or the day after the show. But it feels like I haven't really written a proper review of the concert itself since the first fan-con. So, I thought I'd rewatch some concert footage and share my thoughts on a few performances.

Since they performed about 30 songs during the encore of the final day, it's tough to comment on every single one. So, I'll pick out a few that I really want to talk about and present them in an awards ceremony format.

As always, they utilized the extended stage a lot in this concert. On the first day, my seat was in row 2, section F5, which was amazing. But on the final day, I was in section F4, and every time the members ran to the extended stage, I had to secretly hold back tears ㅠ. Still, for the first time in a while, I gave up on trying to capture everything visually or take pictures and just enjoyed the music and the stage itself. That was also charming, and it made me think, 'Wow, NMIXX really makes good music.' I even reflected on how I might have been too busy trying to capture their real-life presence and the stage.

Of course, if I could choose my seat again, I would definitely not pick F4. Yep. Absolutely not.

Anyway, I've rambled on long enough. Let's get the awards ceremony started!

개인적으로 안무가 취향이었던 무대는 음... 어렵네요. 두 개를 뽑아도 될까요? 하나는 'Slingshot' 입니다. 'Slingshot'이라는 노래가 믹스팝의 정수라고 할 수 있을 정도로 굉장히 변화무쌍한 곡이에요. 템포가 지속적으로 바뀌는 만큼 곡 내에서의 완급 조절과 정신 없는 와중에도 기억될만한 킬링 파트를 만들어내는게 상당히 중요하다고 생각했는데, 정말 훌륭하게 해낸 것 같습니다.

Another award for Best Choreography goes to 'RICO.' At first listen, 'RICO' might sound like a simple hook song, but I see it as the essence of Latin pop, starting with a light beat and then layering it with lyrical piano and flamboyant trumpets. Given its diverse composition, just like 'Slingshot,' it must have been difficult to choreograph. I was truly impressed by the choreography that showcased the distinct colors of the various instruments while still maintaining the Latin identity.

이건 제 개인적으로 안 넣기 아쉬워서 넣은 무대입니다. 'PAXXWORD'는 'Expergo' 쇼케이스 때 <strike>방구석에서</strike> 처음 본 후로 쭉 제가 정말 좋아하는 무대였는데요, 이번 콘서트에서도 볼 수 있어서 정말 좋았어요. 밝고 활기찬 노래나, 트렌디하고 귀여운 가사나, 노래에 충실한 귀여운 안무들 모두 정말 좋습니다.

The lyrics are also so beautiful. 'If I could show you my heart, you'd be able to see how much I love you,' seriously... these lyrics resonate with me every single dawn.

오랜만에 무대에 대한 얘기를 하려니까 말도 점점 길어지고 어떻게 써야 할 지도 감이 안 와서 쓰는데 정말 오래 걸렸네요. 조금 색다른 구성으로 써본 글이니만큼 뭔가 어색하고, '이게 맞나..?' 싶은 부분들이 많지만, 귀엽게 봐주셨으면 좋겠습니다. 글을 쓰기 위해 콘서트 영상을 다시 돌려보는데, 보면 볼수록 엔믹스라는 아티스트에 대한 애정이 더 깊어지는 것 같아요. 다채로운 음악과 강렬한 퍼포먼스, 출중한 라이브와 팬들을 사랑하는 마음까지. 팔방미인 아이돌 엔믹스가 이번 'Blue Valentine' 앨범과 월드 투어를 기반으로 한층 더 성장하길 바라며 이만 줄이겠습니다. 긴 글 읽어주셔서 감사합니다!
