In Korea, whether it's a paper book or an e-book, you have to submit one copy to the National Library of Korea (this is called 'napbon', or legal deposit). The library then pays for the book. This system creates a loophole where people can mass-produce AI-generated books, submit them, and skim money. There's no way to tell if a book was written by a human or AI.

"People are clowning on the National Library's deposit system for AI books, recalling past scams and suggesting new ways to exploit it. Some hope this mess leads to reform, while others just meme about it."
