If this keeps up, even being generous, the final box office revenue will be around 1 billion to 1.5 billion yen (might not even hit 1 billion yen...)

The Boy and the Beast made about 5.8 billion yen.

Mirai made about 6.6 billion yen in Japan.

The problem is Hosoda is a director who handles multi-billion yen productions.

(Mirai production cost about 30 billion yen)

This new movie Scarlet seems serious.

Well, box office isn't everything, so the reviews should be good at least.

Both critic reviews and general audience reviews are not good.

General audience reviews are especially bad.

People are even saying it's Hosoda's worst work ever, the worst anime of the Reiwa era;;

Will he even get funding for his next project after this...?
