An influencer named Johnny DiJulius has gone viral online for his review of an 'outdoor bed' Airbnb located in the middle of the Jordanian desert. In the video, he says, "I decided to stay one night in the Wadi Rum desert for $40 (about 60,000 won)" and revealed the bed placed in the center of the desert, exclaiming, "There's no one around but me. This is crazy." The video garnered immense attention, surpassing 14 million views in just four days, but also sparked various concerns and questions like "Is it safe to sleep there?" "What if scorpions come out?" and "Is this AI-generated?"
As the controversy grew, Johnny addressed the concerns in a follow-up video. He explained that Wadi Rum is a protected area similar to a national park, and it's a safe zone accessible only after paying an entrance fee and going through a registration process. He emphasized that visitors must drive to the village parking lot and then take the host's jeep for about 40 minutes to reach the accommodation, so "it's not a place anyone can just find by looking up the address."
