Why you need to budget plenty of travel time when visiting China

It's not even a plane—you get checked four times just to hop on a train.

The security checks are so damn frequent that everything takes forever. It's even worse for foreigners because you have to whip out your passport every time. There are no exceptions for trains or even express buses. Honestly, it feels pretty suffocating. It kind of feels like if you were a criminal, there's zero chance you wouldn't get caught.

The people themselves are mostly fascinated and kind when they hear you're from Korea. Since this guy's channel concept involves wandering around the Chinese boonies, I guess they're even nicer because they don't see many foreigners in the sticks compared to big cities.
"Users discuss the suffocating level of surveillance and security checks in China, though they agree that the locals are generally friendly and that the strictness might be a necessity for a population that size."
