Reason: It's supposed to be a comic that teaches you about Warhammer, but staying in 1st-person POV had its limits.
So why a female character? The artist is a Yuri (GL) artist.
And apparently, a war broke out between the Loyalists and the Traitors over at the DC Black Library Gallery (Warhammer Gallery).
