The 'Magic Piano' that supposedly took 2 years to develop in China

Decided to try making one of those piano videos you always see on the internet

Fog machine

Used a vortex to stop the smoke from spreading everywhere

Ink in water

Used oil-based ink because regular ink just dissolves in water

Looked decent, so I tried adding LEDs at the bottom

Is it a success?

Or so I thought, but the bottom-lit LEDs could only reach so far, so it got dark by the time it reached the middle

Tried putting lights on top, but it looked mid and you could see the oil floating, so I scrapped it

Tried putting in glass tubes, but they blocked the view, so fail

Tried matching the refractive index of the liquid to make the glass tubes invisible

But as the number of tubes increased, the effect became negligible

In the middle of all that, the prototype I made literally exploded

That's when I saw a video about bioluminescent algae

Contacted another creator who farmed bioluminescent algae for their videos and got some help

The best part about using this algae was that I could just reuse my existing equipment

Explained that they already tried projecting graphics on a transparent screen, but it looked like trash from the side, so they ditched it

Instead of spraying the algae every time, they filled a tank with it and used air bubbles to stimulate it, making the light rise to the surface
Apparently, they practiced the piano like crazy while developing this for 2 years lol
Now other piano creators are visiting to film collab videos
"Users are impressed by the creator's dedication and the trial-and-error process, though some are distracted by the pianist's aggressive headbanging and the high-budget feel of the channel."
