Exactly what the title says. I've decided not to get married because of my parents. Has anyone else felt this way or seen cases like this? It's not my partner's parents—they're actually wonderful and told us to just do whatever we want as long as we're happy. It's my own parents. They were violent while I was growing up, and I even dealt with physical abuse when I was in college. I endured it, survived, and have been living independently for 10 years now.
