Hey, I'm the dev making a game called <TCG Banlist Simulator>. I'm here because I just released a new demo today.
- Game Intro

<TCG Banlist Simulator> is a card battle roguelike based on real-life TCGs like MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Hearthstone. You play as a balance director at a startup card game company. You thought you'd just be chilling in the office working, but users pissed off at the game's management keep breaking down your door to challenge you to duels.
It's got a draft-style card battle feel where the card pool changes every time. You have to walk a tightrope between using your director authority to ban cards and win VS. adjusting the balance to appease the player base. I just uploaded the demo to itch.io, and you can play it directly in your browser. Please give it a try! Demo link: https://shedin.itch.io/tcg-banlist-simulator
- Key Features

Placement-based card battles: I tried to make it simple yet strategic by removing annoying TCG elements like manual targeting and chains, instead making card effects and processing change based on where the cards are placed.

Deck building: Just like a real TCG, you can freely swap cards in and out of your deck from the card pool you've released. Every stage triggers event battles based on the balance meta. You duel with your deck, and winning or losing costs 'event expenses.' If you can't pay and the company assets hit 0, it's game over.

Hiring employees: Rumor has it this company only scouts people through duels, so you have to win with cards to hire staff. Higher stats mean more revenue from pack releases or lower repair costs when users riot. You can also dispatch hired employees to get passive buffs.
Dropping the Ban Hammer: You can ban annoying cards your opponent uses or adjust the banlist to soothe public opinion. Rare cards have pre-set restrictions, so you can unban cards you have duplicates of to buff your deck, or lock down future cards to drop their priceโit's all interconnected.
- Future Dev Plans: It's been 2 months since the last log. I mentioned adding animated cards last time, but I decided it was more important to verify the revamped game system first. I spent the last 2 months just debugging and balancing to prep this demo. I'll upload it to Steam after getting more feedback and fixing bugs. I'll probably draw the new card art after that. Thanks for reading this long post, and I'm looking forward to your plays and feedback.
"While most users are just spamming stickers, one hardcore TCG player is already asking deep questions about the meta and whether they'll have to fight 'broken' decks with 'trash' ones."
