A petition calling for a public hearing and a special counsel investigation into the ‘Extra Actresses Gang Rape Case’ has surpassed 40,000 signatures.
According to the National Assembly's public petition board, a petition titled ‘Request for Hearing and Special Counsel Investigation into the Extra Actresses Gang Rape Case’ posted on the 26th of last month has hit 40,800 signatures as of 6 AM on the 6th.
The petitioner, Mr. Cho, stated the purpose: “The victim, an extra actress, was raped and sexually harassed over 40 times by 12 production team leads in 2004, but couldn't get a proper investigation due to the absence of state power. We need a thorough investigation into why the victim was forced to drop the charges. I am requesting a National Assembly hearing and a special counsel.”
