A story has gone viral about a customer who received a note from an unmanned cafe owner after only ordering a 1,000 won (approx. $0.75) cup of water.
A man in his 30s, Mr. A, shared his story on JTBC's 'Scandal Supervisor' on the 6th, stating, "I usually go to an unmanned cafe with my girlfriend for about an hour or two. Since it's not crowded after work, we go there to quietly get some personal work done."
However, because they went late at night, they often ordered a cup of water served in a paper cup instead of coffee, and they used the cafe this way several times.
One day, the owner came into the shop and told Mr. A, "I see you visit our shop often. I'm really grateful for that, but next time, I'd appreciate it if you didn't just buy water and hog a seat."
"Netizens are duking it out over whether the customer is a 'cafe-camper' nuisance or if the owner is being petty over a menu item they actually sell."
