Something that was totally a blatant racist trope, but everyone just kinda let it slide.

Those hair highlights ('bridges') that were mandatory for every Asian character for a while.
Since many Asian immigrant parents ran hair salons, they'd often give their 2nd-gen kids highlights. This eventually got calcified into a solid media stereotype.
But when you look at the production teams of media using this depiction, it's usually non-Asians pushing it as 'authentic' representation.
If you pointed it out, they'd usually defend it by saying, 'But I heard all Asians in the US actually do that?' for the longest time lol.
