There's this thing called the Dubai Chewy Cookie. Sullyoon ordered 80k won worth from a shop in Busan, Jinni ate it on her birthday live, and Jiwoo raved about it.
I was curious about it-du, but as a Mik-bung (Nmixx fan) who's never done anything beyond basic reheating at home, this was my second big journey after the Inspire Arena. The recipe below is a chaotic collaboration between me and a fellow Mik-bung, so please, for the love of god, don't try this at home.
After searching it up, a Dubai Chewy Cookie is basically kataifi mixed with pistachio spread, encased in a melted marshmallow shell, and dusted with cocoa powder. I wondered for a sec where the 'cookie' part actually comes in-du. But I had to start my adventure ASAP, so I cleared my head and got to work.
First, I scoured the Earth for pistachio spread, the main ingredient, but thanks to the Dubai craze, it was nowhere to be found on Coupang or at the marts-du. Instead, I managed to find whole pistachios at a big-box store. Emart had unsalted ones and Homeplus had salted ones, so I bought both.
I peeled them like crazy. And peeled again. There were so many, but once they were peeled, it didn't look like much-du...
Then I gave them a good wash and rub to get the inner skins off and rinse the salt out of the salted ones. But the inner skins just stayed there and mocked us-du.
I saw everyone on the internet using blenders and mixers, but for a macho Mik-bung, that's just a luxury. All we needed was a blunt object and a space to trap those pistachio bastards trying to run away. So we pounded, and pounded, and pounded-du. It was fucking exhausting. No matter how much we pounded, it never got that creamy spread look.
Next up, the second main character: kataifi. We bought pre-toasted kataifi, but to chase that extra nutty flavor, we roasted it in butter again. Double-roasted kataifi-du.
Then we mixed the double-roasted kataifi with the crushed pistachios. MIX IT UP DO! But as you can see, instead of the kataifi being submerged in a thick spread, it looked like some kind of weird fried rice. I wondered if this mysterious stir-fry would even hold together.
I read somewhere that adding white chocolate is good, so I bought some. I wasn't sure when to add it, so I figured I'd throw it in when melting the marshmallows. When I took the chocolate out, I realized it was supposed to be double-boiled. I just opened the pack and chucked it in. Who needs double-boiling anyway-du?
After melting the white chocolate, I mixed the marshmallows, butter, and chocolate together. You know that voice message from the Cuckoo rice cooker when the rice is done? 'Please stir the rice well~' Well, I stirred the marshmallows instead-du.
Finally, all the prep for the Dubai Chewy Cookie was complete-du. Could these two components find harmony? As the eyes of the whole N-Gal were upon us...
Oops. My Dubai Chewy Cookie passed away-du.
Luckily, my Mik-bung friend is actually quite handy, so they managed to make some Dubai Chewy Cookies with a solid filling.

In DC Inside, there are normal DC-cons (emotes), but there are also 'Dae-wang-cons' (Giant Emotes) that only the chosen ones can use. So I tried making a Giant Dubai Chewy Cookie too. I offer this Giant Cookie to all the Mik-bungs as I conclude today's adventure log.

Epilogue: After a long and messy journey, the Dubai Chewy Cookie quest is over, but the real problem starts now-du. It turns out neither me nor my friend actually like Dubai Chewy Cookies that much. Now we have to figure out what to do with 20 of them. Everyone, please just buy them instead of making them. Ingredients are crazy expensive these days-du. I don't even know how much I spent on this one attempt... Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the post. Have a great weekend everyone. Some of you mentioned doing a giveaway, but I don't want to kill anyone with food poisoning, so I'm passing on that-du.
"The community loves the chaotic cooking process, especially the 'macho' method of pounding pistachios with a screwdriver, and everyone is leaning into the Sullyoon '-du' linguistic meme."
