This is Cima Garahau, the modest, long-haired female officer here. She is one of the antagonists in Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory, depicted as a villain who backstabs everyone before finally dying in the series. How did she end up as a villain?
During the One Year War, she was a promising officer in Zeon. When the war broke out, she was appointed acting commander of the marine corps under the Purple Old Hag (Kycilia Zabi). The unit she led was called the Cima Fleet, filled with recruits who were mostly poor people from her hometown, Maharl Colonyโbasically, everyone they wanted to dump responsibility on.

Her becoming acting commander shortly after commissioning was the result of the previous commander passing the buck, but because she was competent, she handled all the militaryโs tough tasks. The unit's purpose at the time was Black Opsโa unit that handled dirty work that should never be done publicly. Cima couldn't accept it, but as a soldier, she followed orders and committed various war crimes.

During Operation British, the Principality of Zeon seized the Island Iffish Colony and dropped it on Earth to strike the Earth Federation and cause food shortages. The Cima Fleet was assigned the mission of seizing the colony.

The problem was that the mission Cima Fleet received was to inject anesthetic gas into the colony to neutralize it and seize it. However, the gas the higher-ups gave them, claiming it was sleeping gas, was actually poison gas.

When the Cima Fleet entered to subdue the colony, thinking enough sleeping gas had been injected, the sight that unfolded before their eyes was a hellish scene: hundreds of thousands of colony residents massacred. Cima's mental state completely collapsed. "I didn't know... I didn't know... I didn't know it was poison gas!" This became Cimaโs trauma. Thinking she was already ruined, Cima became even more obsessed with military achievements.

Then the war ended, and Cima and her fleet were abandoned by Zeon and the superiors who gave the orders, who called them โdirty war criminals, the scum of Zeon.โ When a furious Cima charged towards her superiorโs battleship, someone suddenly jumped out to stop her...
It was some anachronistic samurai junkie bastard, a guy lower rank than her, who said, "Maintain your duty as a soldier. We (the superiorโs unit) must live for the greater cause." He was basically saying they had important things to do, so Cima should just suck it up and obey orders like a proper soldier. Utterly pissed off, Cima and her subordinates deserted.

They couldn't even return to their home, Maharl Colony, because Gihren had decided it was the most disposable colony during the war and had converted it into a weapon. With nowhere to go, they became space pirates.

A few years later, that samurai junkie bastard even came back asking for their help to achieve his 'greater cause.' At this point, shouldn't backstabbing be completely justified?

This is the story of Cima Garahau, known among Gundam fans as Cima Noona. What ended up happening to her?
"Cima deserved better, but the fandom is mostly focused on the fact that Kou Uraki is a psycho for making her death Watermelon Bar-level messy. Oh, and of course, Nina Purpleton is the real trash fire."
