He thought about finishing in 2012, but it got way longer and is still ongoing. They say he expects to finish around September 2026.

He was also detained in Russia and Panama.


He crossed straits that couldn't be walked across by walking on the ice. When the ice hadn't frozen, he spent long periods staying put and waiting.

He showed crazy mental fortitude by swimming about 260km between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Only about 2,900km left. He is expected to return to the warm embrace of his family around spring/summer...
