Ms. A, aka the 'IV Auntie' suspected of performing illegal medical procedures on celebrity Park Narae, admitted she "did it to earn money for side dishes," but regarding the former manager’s claim that she administered IV fluids to Park Narae, she replied, "I totally don't remember that."
The Munhwa Ilbo tried calling Ms. A on the 10th to verify the claims that Park Narae received illegal treatment. Park Narae's ex-manager previously shared texts exchanged with Ms. A, claiming that "In July 2023, after filming, [Park Narae] got an IV drip from a complete stranger at a hotel in Gimhae." These texts included details like the suspected hotel address, the procedure cost, Ms. A's bank info, and confirmation of payment.
Ms. A confirmed that the name, bank name, and account number in the texts were hers ("Yep, that's my number"), but when asked if she actually performed the medical procedure on Park Narae, she replied, "I honestly have no clue."
When asked, "Do you happen to know who Park Narae is?" she responded, "Yeah, the comedian," yet she kept insisting that she "totally doesn't remember" whether Park Narae received illegal treatment from her.
It was also confirmed that Ms. A is not a licensed medical professional (doctor or nurse). When asked if she had a license, she said, "No, no, absolutely not," explaining, "Before the separation of prescribing and dispensing [pre-2000], I worked at a hospital, so local pharmacies would send me meds and I earned enough for side dishes. Then I quit and stopped doing anything."
Regarding continuing illegal procedures, Ms. A stated, "I haven't done it since the separation of prescribing and dispensing, because I don't have the meds anymore," adding, "I quit ages ago. I'm old, and my eyesight is bad and stuff..."
The main sticking point now is expected to be whether Park Narae knew that the 'IV Auntie' Ms. A wasn't actually a licensed medical professional. If Park Narae truly believed Ms. A was a medical pro when she received treatment, she likely won't face punishment.
"So we've got the Syringe Auntie and the IV Auntie? Are there 'Aunties' specializing in every illegal procedure just to earn banchan money? Highly suspicious of the 'memory loss' defense, too."
