Hey everyone, this is Doos.

Last winter, I went to Death Valley National Park in the US alone for about 10 days.

When you think of the desert, 'dangerous, remote, and uncomfortable' comes to mind first. Plus, everyone around me kept asking, 'Why the heck are you going there alone?'

But once I actually got inside and started walking slowly, my perspective changed a bit. Sand dunes, canyons, salt flats, and even mountains in colors I never expected—

The scenery kept changing every single day. Everything felt so new...

The deeper I went, the fewer people there were. At night, it was dead silent, and the stars in the night sky were just pouring down. After a few days, being quietly alone actually started making me feel... calm.

One time I hit a dead end, and I tried to climb over it, but the slope was way too steep, so I gained the courage to let it go and turn back.

Work stuff, relationships... all those thoughts seemed to gradually sort themselves out as I walked.
I'm not sure if this is the right answer. But lately, I just try to empty my thoughts by walking like this and clear my head while watching the sunset.
"This post is beautiful, but the comment section is a PSA: Death Valley is gorgeous, but if you go solo without a sat-messenger and enough water, you're signing up to become a permanent feature of the salt flats. You've been warned!"
