
In Korea, since it's conscription, you easily hit Sergeant (Byeongjang) as long as you don't mess up, but apparently, it's different in the US and Western armies.
Especially in the US, even just to get Corporal (Sangbyeong), you have to pass lots of physical tests and exams.
Because of that, people from volunteer service countries tend to see ROK Army Corporal/Sergeants as something pretty serious ใ ใ ใ ใ ใ
