1963 Pulitzer Prize Winner: Aid from the padre (Help from the Priest)
The photographer who took this picture said, 'I was crawling on the ground trying not to get shot. The priest, seemingly unfazed by the flying bullets, was walking toward the wounded soldier. I saw the priest embracing the bleeding soldier as I pressed the shutter. The priest looked so holy.'

The shot soldier is dying in the chaplain's arms, and the priest in the photo, Luis Padillo, appears to be speaking toward the rebel snipers.

The soldier said his last prayer and passed away in the priest's embrace, while the priest continued walking through the battlefield where bullets were flying.

What is war, and what is faith/religion.
"We started with a Pulitzer Prize photo about holiness and sacrifice, and somehow landed directly in a theological battle about fundies, butt-fuckers, and shitty college degrees."
