Recently, the Dominican National Team has been making headlines as several big-name players have confirmed their participation. So, I decided to compile each player's stats.

But given he's a catcher, he's actually quite decent, unless you count the US (who has Raley, Smith, Goodman, Langeliers simultaneously) or Venezuela (who has Salvy Perez and Contreras).

This is Vladdy Jr. [블바오], who had an insane postseason run this year, including an OPS of 1.289 with 8 homers, though they sadly finished runner-up. He’s a guy most baseball fans would know thanks to his good looks, star power, and legendary name.

Ketel Marte (32, AZ) 2025 Season Stats: 126G / 0.283 0.376 0.517 / OPS 0.893 / fWAR 4.6 / bWAR 4.4 3x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger. Marte won the 2B Silver Slugger again this year after winning it last year. Maybe his stats are slightly disappointing compared to last year when he finished 3rd in MVP voting, but he's still a top-tier 2B. Trade rumors keep swirling, but he's highly likely to form the Arizona keystone duo with Perdomo (mentioned later).

Jose Ramirez (33, CLE) 2025 Season Stats: 158G / 30 HR / 44 SB / 0.283 0.360 0.503 / OPS 0.863 / fWAR 6.3 / bWAR 5.8 7x All-Star, 6x Silver Slugger. His dedication is like Choi Jeong, his performance is like Kim Doyoung, and his looks are like Moon Bokyung. He is truly Jose God [세호신], who has gathered all the advantages of third basemen. He finished 3rd in this year’s AL MVP voting, and while he’ll be competing with Machado for 3B, personally, I think Jose God will grab the starting spot.
Manny Machado (33, SD) 2025 Season Stats: 159G / 27 HR / 14 SB / 0.275 0.335 0.460 / OPS 0.795 / fWAR 3.8 / bWAR 4.1 7x All-Star, 3x Silver Slugger, 2x Gold Glover. Machado won the NL 3B Silver Slugger for the second straight year. But I’m still rooting for Jose God.
Junior Caminero (22, TB) 2025 Season Stats: 154G / 45 HR / 7 SB / 0.264 0.311 0.535 / OPS 0.846 / fWAR 4.6 / bWAR 4.4 1x All-Star. Caminero showed monstrous power in his first full season with 45 home runs. However, due to his still-developing defense, he probably won't be the starting 3B and will instead compete for the DH spot.

Geraldo Perdomo (26, AZ) 2025 Season Stats: 161G / 20 HR / 27 SB / 0.290 0.389 0.462 / OPS 0.851 / fWAR 7.1 / bWAR 7.0 1x All-Star, 1x Silver Slugger. Perdomo had a breakout year this season, finishing 4th in NL MVP voting and winning his first Silver Slugger. His stats stand out even among the stacked Dominican shortstop lineup, and he looks set to pair up with Marte as the starting keystone.

Elly De La Cruz (23, CIN) 2025 Season Stats: 162G / 22 HR / 37 SB / 0.264 0.336 0.440 / OPS 0.777 / fWAR 4.3 / bWAR 3.6 2x All-Star. EDLC, who won the stolen base title last year with 67 SBs, is also joining the DR. However, due to defense issues and the Dominican Republic’s deep SS pool, a starting role looks difficult.

Juan Soto (27, NYM) 2025 Season Stats: 160G / 43 HR / 38 SB / 0.262 0.392 0.523 / OPS 0.921 / fWAR 5.8 / bWAR 6.2 4x All-Star, 6x Silver Slugger. Soto, the 'One Billion Dollar Man,' is joining the DR again. Although he narrowly missed the 40-40 club this season, he put up great results, finishing 3rd in NL MVP voting and becoming the slowest SB king in history. He’s guaranteed a starting outfield spot.
Julio Rodriguez (24, SEA) 2025 Season Stats: 160G / 32 HR / 30 SB / 0.267 0.324 0.474 / OPS 0.798 / fWAR 5.7 / bWAR 6.8 3x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger. Julio Rodriguez put up near-career-high numbers with a strong second half. He will be defending center field for the DR.
Fernando Tatis Jr. (26, SD) 2025 Season Stats: 155G / 25 HR / 32 SB / 0.268 0.368 0.446 / OPS 0.814 / fWAR 6.1 bWAR 5.9 3x All-Star, 2x Silver Slugger, 2x Gold Glover. This is Mr. Drug User [약련님]. With an OPS hovering around 0.8 and Platinum Glove-level defense, he's set to secure the starting right field position for the DR.
As shown, the confirmed roster alone makes the Dominican Republic capable of going toe-to-toe with the US. Other players like Adames and Devers have expressed interest but haven't received club permission yet and might join later. The downside, again, is pitching. For the rotation, Christopher Sanchez (who showed league-level performance), Bryan Bello, and Sandy Alcantara are confirmed. Even though Freddy Peralta, who should form a 1-2 punch with Sanchez, expressed interest, there's still instability, as he might miss out due to a trade. Nevertheless, reinforcement of the rotation, including the participation of this year's Cy Young runner-up, makes it highly likely they will achieve a different outcome than their quick flame-out in 2023. The bullpen, in particular, has many points of instability due to Bautista’s injury and a certain *bastard's* incident [어떤 십새끼의 모종의 사건], so we need to watch that closely. But the most important point is that if the Korean National Team advances by finishing 2nd in their group this WBC, there’s a high chance we’ll face these guys. We're f*cked.
