SEOUL [Newsis] Reporter Kim Rae-hyun. Singer Kim Ho-joong, currently serving time for causing a traffic accident while drunk and fleeing the scene, was deemed unsuitable in the Christmas parole review. The Ministry of Justice's Parole Review Committee reviewed Kim's eligibility for parole on December 17th. They concluded that Kim was unfit for release this Christmas. Inmates who were approved will be released from 55 correctional facilities nationwide on December 24th at 10 AM. Criminal law stipulates that those sentenced to imprisonment with labor who have served one-third of their sentence may be granted parole. The Committee appears to have made the 'unsuitable' decision considering the poor quality of Kim's crime—causing an accident, running away, and then trying to get his manager to turn himself in on his behalf.
