Chile's captain, Gary Medel, who got into a major scrap with Messi during the 2019 Copa Argentina match, flopping around like a live fish.
Both Medel and Messi ended up getting red cards and were ejected. It was such an intense, emotional fight that they both later faced suspensions and fines.
And one month later, the FIFA Player of the Year voting took place.
Since voting rights are given to each nation's captain, Medel also got to cast a ballot.
Medel stunned reporters by voting for Messi, showing that he holds zero grudges.
Messi successfully won the P.O.Y. award.
The two met again during a national team match and ended up taking the most awkward photo in the world.
"The consensus is that Medel has no petty beef, but the fight looked hilarious, especially when compared to other legendary soccer scuffles. Two short kings duking it out is apparently 'grade-school' behavior."
