A 20-something guy who gaslighted a woman while pretending to date her and swindled 10 billion won got his sentence reduced in the appellate court.
On the 17th, the Daegu High Court overturned the original 20-year sentence for 20-year-old A, convicted of aggravated economic fraud, and reduced it to 16 years.
The court noted: "While the defendants enjoyed a lavish and luxurious lifestyle, buying designer goods with the money they stole from the victims, the victims lost all their lifelong savings and incurred huge debts, leading to the collapse of their families and the destruction of their lives."
