
Chinese people call Korea a 'Thieving Nation' (dodukguk) every day, but I think the higher-ups intentionally created this narrative. A decade or so ago, Chinese people didn't fight with Koreans over these issues. We knew that Sichuan pickled vegetables and Korean kimchi weren't originally the same thing, and Hanbok was obviously Korean; it just looked a bit similar because of the influence of the Ming Dynasty.
