Ferran Martínez
FC Barcelona is being extremely cautious regarding Ronald Araújo's situation. Both the club and the player have agreed not to set a specific return date, adhering to one clear principle: taking it day by day.
While there might be a rough plan internally, Barça is handling this with the utmost care because this is not a physical injury with a clear recovery timeline, but rather an absence related to mental health. The player's condition is improving positively, and if everything goes according to plan, Araújo aims to rejoin the team after the Christmas break.
In the meantime, the Uruguayan center-back left Barcelona to focus on recovery and clear his head. After returning from Israel last Friday, he departed for his home country again this week. He plans to spend Christmas in Uruguay with his immediate family.
Daily Reports Sent to Barça
Araújo is not alone in this process. A fitness coach, who communicates directly and daily with the club, is accompanying him, and he is following a personalized program designed jointly with Barça. The player's condition is reported to the club daily to manage the recovery process.
Barça is in no hurry. The top priority is for the player to fully recover and return in peak condition, completely overcoming the mental health issues that sidelined him after the Chelsea-Barcelona match on November 25th.
"Fans are roasting the player, suggesting that his 'mental health recovery' following a red card is just an expensive, mid-season vacation, and advising him to just stay gone."
