The aspect ratio was close to 1:1, which felt weird initially, but as I kept watching, that specific ratio actually made me feel more immersed.
The summer segment gave me a sexual vibe, just like the professor in the movie mentioned.
The scene where Yumi Kawai goes through that drainage-like tunnel? heading toward the beach made me think of the part in 'Monster' where Minato and Yori go through the abandoned tunnel.
The winter segment totally brought back memories of my trip to Yufuin when it was snowing buckets. It had this cozy vibe, like being snug in a completely white world even though the weather was freezing.
I loved that Shim Eun-kyung's narration was in Korean, not Japanese. It made me feel like I was the one traveling Japan as a Korean person.
There were continuous, loud sighs throughout the movie, and I thought it was the innkeeper character doing it, but nope, it was just some a-hole distracting everyone (관크);;
When the credits rolled, that sighing ajussi loudly muttered to himself, 'Ugh! It's finally over!'
I've been lucky lately with no movie distractions, but I got hit by the 관크 today.
P.S. Theaters, drop those Yumi Kawai posters already.
"Reviewer had a great time soaking in the snowy feels, only for an ajussi to destroy the vibe and dramatically announce, 'It's finally over!' The audience is now demanding bikini posters as spiritual compensation."
