In a corner of Mactan-Cebu International Airport in the Philippines, a rusty green plane has been left abandoned for years, looking like an eyesore. This plane is Korean Air Flight 631. But why is it there?

It's because the plane attempted to land in bad weather (three times!) and ended up skidding, scraping its belly before making an emergency landing. It was a super dangerous situation, but thanks to the pilot's skillful handling, no one was hurt, and all 173 passengers got off safely on foot.

But why is it still at Cebu Airport after all this time?? Korean Air paid the full cost of recovering the aircraft immediately after the accident. But the Filipino assholes, who happily took the money, suddenly said, "Oh, but we don't have the equipment to dismantle and move it," and decided to play dumb. So for months, the plane sat there stuck in the mud with Korean Air's livery. When Korean Air protested, all the Filipino assholes did was:

Grab some green paint and just cover up the Korean Air logo. Seriously, the color choice is so Southeast Asian lol. It's been left there for years, and the exterior panels, equipment, engine parts, etc., have all rusted away lol. Here's the key thing: Korean Air paid for 'recovery,' not for the ownership of the plane. LOL. That plane is Korean Air's asset, but the Filipino assholes took the money saying they'd handle it and then pulled this stunt.

In the end, Korean Air realized it's too late to salvage it and they'd probably demand extra costs for scrapping it. They figured if they paid again, the Filipinos would just pull the same "we don't have the equipment to scrap it" routine, so Korean Air is just washing their hands of it lol. The most likely reasons are: 1. They already skimmed the recovery fees Korean Air paid, so they don't have the money to actually recover it. 2. They've already stripped and sold the internal parts and are blocking access to prevent anyone from finding out, just covering it up. Maybe it's both 1 and 2 lol.
