The biggest mystery in One Piece has always been how he lost his arm to some utterly pathetic, fodder sea creature.
The plot thread about the missing arm finally got resolved this week.

Apparently, when he infiltrated Marijoa for intel when he was younger, he got a tattoo/mark due to a contract with Imu, and the new rumor is that he deliberately chopped off his arm to remove it. Yep.
