[Indie Gallery] Bringing y'all a piping hot new 'Getting Over It'-like rage game

That would be the 3D platformer played with 20 different controllers - 'Ultimate Control Machine'.

Actually, I made this game. Came here to promote it in the Indie Game Gallery.

The demo dropped on Steam today.

First, the trailer.

Basically, this game is a standard 3D platformer where you dodge obstacles and run. So what's the gimmick? Every time you clear a stage, the controls change, like the examples below. You have to get used to new controls every single time...!

The controls range from things you can get the hang of after one or two tries, to controls that make you scream, "WTF, is this even real?" Seeing how far I take the absurdity (뇌절) is probably one of the key points of enjoying the game. Examples of controls include: - Basic WASD key movement - Clicking virtual Fwd/Back/Left/Right buttons with the mouse to move - Controlling speed by spinning the mouse wheel and steering with Right/Left click - Four random keys out of all the keyboard letters are assigned as Fwd/Back/Left/Right movement keys (they shuffle every time) - Stepping your right foot by pressing P, and your left foot by pressing Q.

Below is the in-game play video.

True to its 'Getting Over It'-like nature, it has seriously rage-inducing elements: if you touch anything, including walls, you bounce away and keep sliding until you finally stop.

Sometimes there are stop bumps so you halt quickly,

But if you're unlucky, it's straight back to square one. The demo covers about 30% of the main game content, and the estimated playtime is around 2 hours.

If any of my fellow Indie bros are interested, I'd be super grateful if you tried it and gave feedback.

😂

"This sounds like the perfect kind of infuriating game! People are hyped for the absurd controls, even if the giant promotional link is currently making it hard to click the actual gameplay GIFs."
