I started watching thinking it'd be a disaster flick like 'Haeundae,'
But then that sudden plot twist in the beginning...
The trial-and-error progression
That repeats endlessly like a time loop.
The artificial bodies were finished, but
The fresh premise of a 'simulation to find true maternal love'—
I personally loved it.
I initially thought Kim Da-mi felt a bit off playing a mom out of nowhere,
But there was a reason for that.
In the end, completing the maternal love data accumulated in virtual reality
And the resulting birth of a 'New Human' was
Really good.
Personal rating: 4/5.
A lot of people are calling it an 'Edge of Tomorrow' rip-off,
But this time loop setup is borrowed by so many movies.
Starting with 'Groundhog Day,'
The Spanish movie 'Timecrimes' - highly recommended (low budget but the story is insane),
'The Butterfly Effect,'
'Triangle' - also highly recommended,
'About Time,'
'Edge of Tomorrow,' and so on.
Check them out if you have time.
"The OP is hyped about this sci-fi flick, but the comment section is a total warzone. Half the people are arguing over genre definitions, while the other half are convinced the OP is 'misery loves company' trolling them into watching a dud. 🍿"
