Actually, I made this lol. I've posted here a few times before, but after seeing Artist Ko Il-kwon's webtoon 'Kalburim' last year, I started digging into our traditional martial arts culture. I realized there weren't many decent cultural products out there.
It's a well-known fact that the armor in the Gwanghwamun Yi Sun-shin statue or movies like 'Roaring Currents' and 'Immortal Admiral Yi Sun-shin' isn't historically accurate. It was heartbreaking to see Chinese Qing Dynasty armor being sold as Yi Sun-shin's armor. I was supposed to go on a business trip and made a traditional Korean helmet-style knit hat for a friend's kid, but the trip got canceled. I held onto it and entered it into the MU:DS contest in April... Since it's a seasonal item, I had to watch other 'K-Detective' items sell out like crazy while I waited. Finally, the cold weather hit and I started selling. The reaction's better than I expected. By a stroke of luck, it got a lot of screen time on 'How Do You Play?', which was huge for promo.
Some might find it pricey, but without getting into too much detail, between museum commissions and the requirement that museum goods *must* be produced domestically, it's hard to cut costs T_T. But once they see the quality, most say it’s worth the price. Like every seller says, the margins aren't that big lol. But seeing kids wear them so happily makes it worth it!
I thought only toddlers without an 'ego' yet would wear these, so I didn't even consider adult sizes. But after launch, I got so many requests for adult versions. I just released the larger size, so please show some love (yes, this is a plug). Thanks!
