(Brand names have been blurred.) Because they actually are trash... A 200cm tall Westerner with long legs uses a 47cm seat depth, but a 173cm Korean guy with short legs is out here sitting on a 54cm seat depth.

Normally, there should be about 3โ4 inches (9cm) of space left even when you're sitting with your back deep against the chair, but in Korea, there's zero spaceโit's actually too deep. Sitting cross-legged on a chair is just a 'cope' because sitting in a proper posture is so uncomfortable. In reality, there shouldn't even be enough room to sit cross-legged. FYI, sitting cross-legged might feel comfy for a bit, but it's terrible for your body in the long run.

Here's another pic I found on Google; this one has a 38cm seat depth lol. Korean chairs are 54cm lol. TL;DR 1. 99% of Korean chairs are garbage. 2. Buy one with a short seat depth. 3. If you're 2m tall with long legs, then you're fine.
"Users are exposing the 'deep seat' trap of Korean chairs, explaining that brands cater to the bad habit of sitting cross-legged rather than ergonomic health. The consensus is that high-end marketing like Sidiz doesn't always equal comfort."
