Looking at the notice, it’s clear the Park Service knows that TNR is useless. But since last year, the Ministry of Environment basically codified guidelines that make TNR the only option in national parks... Meanwhile, native wild boars are being trapped and culled. They talk about fines, but I wonder if anyone has actually been fined. 🙄 There doesn't seem to be a legal basis in the current regulations to even ban feeding, and articles have come out saying there's practically no way to stop it. Even Turkey (Türkiye) is starting to round up strays and regulate feeding; it’s frustrating how long we’re just letting this problem sit.
"Users are absolutely fed up with 'cat moms' feeding strays in national parks, calling for massive fines and criticizing the government for being swayed by loud interest groups instead of ecological experts."
