Why are people hating so hard on the provinces lately? Is there some new drama?
I heard that when the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries moved last week, thousands of employees didn't even quit and successfully relocated to start their work.
Sure, most of them probably didn't move their entire lives there and just live in studios while heading back to Seoul on weekends...
But honestly, you get tired of traveling back to Seoul every single week.
After a while, you start going once every 2 or 3 weeks.
Then, on the off-weeks, you spend your time in Busan. You spend money in Busan on weekdays, too.
Just that much should give the Busanjin-gu economy a bit of a boost.
If public institutions and schools keep moving to the provinces, it won't end the Seoul obsession, but at least the provinces can stay alive.
"Users are debating the reality of relocating to the provinces, arguing over whether people actually settle down or just become 'weekend Seoulites,' while nitpicking the specific geography of Busan's districts."
