Triploid Oysters
When you breed diploid and tetraploid oysters, you get triploid oysters. Since they have an odd number of chromosomes, they are guaranteed to be sterile mutants.

Because they don't waste any energy on reproduction, they focus entirely on bulking up.
They grow more than twice as large as regular oysters.
Unlike regular oysters that die off during the summer spawning season, these can be eaten all year round.
