But yesterday on the phone, he asked if I was really going to be with my family on the Eve and if I could come to his family dinner instead. My married sister's birthday is around that time, so we already had a family gathering planned. When I said no, he suddenly went, 'Our house is full of guys (his dad, him, his brother) so the vibe is super dry, and you know my mom is the only woman there. If you come and spend time with us, my parents would love it and the mood would brighten up.' He then got mad, saying he only suggested it for my sake so I could 'score points' with his parents, and couldn't believe I rejected the idea so flatly.
