I'm a 'waenoja' (wage slave in Japan) who loves camping. I didn't think I'd be able to go this month, but the kid suddenly asked to go. After double-checking a few times, I burned an annual leave day and went on a Fri-Sat trip.

The campsite is great because it's close to the station. Being a weekday, there weren't many people. Score.

Lunch was dolsot bibimbap (or so I claim). Since it's the Japanese style, it wasn't spicy, so even the little one ate it well.

Dessert: Kkokkalcorn (Bugles).

Grabbing a cup of coffee too.

The autumn weather was super warm.

We tried hiking, but with 5 minutes left to the peak, the kid started whining about being tired, so we retreated.

Look at them running down all excited though lol.

The only mountain view I managed to see.

Grabbed a drink from the vending machine and headed back to base to rest.

Dinner is dumpling hot pot.

Today's mission: Starting the fire with a blower.

Camping logic: Everything tastes better out here.

Stared at the fire for a bit and went to bed early.

Woke up and headed out for a walk.

View of the campsite from the bridge. That little grasshopper-colored tent is ours haha.

Back from the walk, packed up and got ready to head home. Lots of leftover firewood, so the luggage actually grew.

Played the station piano while waiting for the train. Since it's the countryside, the train only comes once an hour. The weather was warm and it was a total healing trip. The little one said we should come back in the summer for some water play. I'll have to bring the whole family next time. Thanks to the kid, I had a blast playing hooky.
