A VT-4 Main Battle Tank (MBT) operated by the Royal Thai Army suffered another main gun explosion during combat.

It looks like the main gun was clean-cut right from the fume extractor due to the blast.

The Thai military, which received 60 VT-4 MBTs from China's NORINCO, even equipped them with bamboo/log external armor.

Following a previous loss due to a main gun explosion, reports indicate that besides the critical damage to the gun, the fire control aiming systems and laser warning systems were also compromised. These systems are vital in modern armored warfare for target acquisition, engagement accuracy, and warning against enemy laser designation. Three Thai soldiers were also injured in the incident.
"Users are ruthlessly mocking Chinese military tech for literally blowing up in the field, dismissing 'export downgrade' excuses as BS and speculating that China's lack of combat experience and deep-rooted corruption are to blame. Some are even pitching Korean tanks as a replacement."
