The 'Genre Novel Channel' (a web novel community) held a vote for their 1st Generation Mascot. At first, Sung Jin-woo from Solo Leveling was leading the pack, showing off the power of the SL fandom.
But then, a character from the game 'Trickcal'โwho has absolutely zero connection to web novelsโended up getting a massive wave of pity votes just for being 'pathetic' and snatched 1st place.
And that's how Mago became the mascot of the Genre Novel Channel.

At first, they just picked her because she was pitiful, but now the users are loving it, saying her 'vibe' actually fits the community perfectly.
Of course, even the actual Trickcal players have never heard of half the 'lore' these guys are making up for her.
"What started as a serious poll for the king of web novels ended in a chaotic pity-party for a random goat girl. Now the community is busy writing her fan-fiction and demanding the game developers make it canon."
