During the Produce scandal, they took a hiatus, then X1 disbanded while IZ*ONE made a comeback before eventually disbanding. Obviously, those were contract-based groups though.
But what about fromis_9? They weren't famous back then, so it wasn't a huge controversy, but is it right for them to just keep promoting? If the whole thing was rigged from start to finish, 70-80% of the lineup would probably be different.
FYI, I'm not a Produce fan, didn't watch any of those shows.
