Usually, I try to keep the sell-to-buy ratio at 1:1, but this year the selling ratio was way higher.

Writing this is actually making me tear up.

Warning: Boring long post ahead.

1. Sold

1.1 Cartier Tank à Vis

The one I regret selling the most this year. I sold it because there was a listing I really wanted... I don't regret the watch I bought instead, but I regret selling *this* to get it. My #1 pick to buy back.

1.2 Tissot Z160

The reason I sold it is simple.

A solid gold piece in crackin' condition popped up. The price was so good that the luxury and education taxes were basically non-existent. So I thought, 'I'll sell this and buy the gold one,' but that one got snatched up first.

1.3 Vacheron Constantin Malte

For this price, getting Vacheron + Solid Gold + Inner angle anglage + Geneva Seal + Guilloche... if you only look at it logically, it's still an insane value. Plus the hype of it being Vacheron's first in-house movement. But buying with just your brain doesn't last long.

1.4 Nomos Tangente Sport Japan Limited Edition

There's something called 'Nomos Syndrome.' Every six months you crave Nomos, then once you get it, you sell it within a year... I thought if I added a layer of 'Hipster Disease' (Hongdae-byeong) it might last longer? So I picked this up early this year and sold it at the end. I'm not a big fan of blue hands, plus the rarity hype of only 35 pieces worldwide got me. It still looks gorgeous. The Sport is definitely prettier than the regular Tangente.
"OP shares a bittersweet year of high-end watch swapping, leaving commenters both impressed by the collection and mourning the legendary pieces that were let go."
