NewJeans' Danielle drew attention by volunteering to deliver coal briquettes on the same day she received a notice of contract termination from her agency, ADOR. On the 29th, Danielle participated in the 'Raising Korea's Temperature by 1 Degree' briquette volunteering event alongside Sean. This was also the day ADOR officially announced, 'We have notified Danielle of her exclusive contract termination.' In their statement, ADOR explained, 'We decided it would be difficult for Danielle to continue as a NewJeans member and an ADOR artist, so we notified her of the termination today.' They added that they plan to hold Min Hee-jin and a member of Danielle's family legally responsible for the dispute and the delay in NewJeans' return. Meanwhile, accounts from other volunteers surfaced online. One volunteer wrote, 'She worked really hard moving briquettes for two hours and was a solid teammate,' adding, 'I had no idea because she didn't show any signs of what was happening.' They also mentioned her bright attitude, saying, 'After volunteering, she handed out cookies and chocolates and smiled while agreeing to all photo and autograph requests.' Interest grew even more as photos from the site were shared.
Gotta hand it to her mental game, though.
"Netizens are divided: some are floored by her 'god-tier mental' for volunteering on the day she got fired, while others are throwing shade about her failed return to the company and the 'activist' vibe of her outfit."
