Me and a buddy went to Noryangjin yesterday 'cause we were craving yellowtail. The famous spots like Brother's Fish and Jeolla Fish had insane lines, so we were looking around. This one guy bowed 90 degrees and said his place serves the best stuff, so we took a look.
I tried to walk away saying I'll look around more, but he started shouting, 'If you don't buy here, you're gonna wait forever at the restaurants upstairs!' He even slammed a mullet on the floor to show off and pressured us hard. I ended up begging him to just give us a good deal, asking for a small yellowtail plus half a mullet since a whole one was too much.
Small Yellowtail 70k + Half a Mullet 30k = 100k KRW total.
As soon as we got the platter at the restaurant, I was like WTF. The white fish was all mullet, and the yellowtail wasn't even bled properly—it was bright red, tasted like blood, and instead of being fatty, it was just straight-up fishy.
I eat yellowtail all the time, but this was the absolute worst. ㅠㅠ Too scared to go back and complain at Noryangjin;;; Sigh... fml.
Never going to an empty shop again. Sticking to the verified places from now on. ㅠㅠㅠ
