I was talking to a friend about getting older recently. I told them I've been busy doing all the things I want to do lately, but they said they don't really have any desire to live a long life and just want to pass away peacefully in their sleep... I always thought most humans dreamed of eternal life? I know everyone thinks differently, but hearing that from a close friend who’s not even 50 yet made me feel kinda sad. I feel like accepting death is a terrifying thing, but since humans eventually die anyway, I wonder when that fear finally goes away.
