[Exclusive] Samsung’s Big Move… Galaxy S26 Pricing to be Frozen - Maeil Business Newspaper

Samsung plans to freeze prices for its flagship lineup while raising prices for some models in the budget-friendly A series. This strategy is interpreted as a move to minimize consumer backlash by keeping flagship prices steady while protecting the bottom line by hiking prices on mid-to-low-tier products.

For the foldable series, the Galaxy Fold 8 will reportedly shed weight from 215g to the 200g range, while battery capacity will jump from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh. The Galaxy Flip 8 is expected to emphasize portability by dropping from 188g to 180g. Meanwhile, Samsung is set to slightly increase prices for some budget Galaxy A series models. The Galaxy A57 5G is expected to sell for $499, the A37 5G for $389, and the A07 5G for $159. A Samsung official stated, 'With time left until the Unpacked event, the final pricing for the Galaxy S26 has not yet been confirmed.'
"Users are highly skeptical of the 'price freeze' rumor, arguing that switching to Exynos chips while keeping the MSRP the same is just a stealthy price hike, especially if Samsung ditches the fan-favorite 'Double Storage' preorder deal."
