A man in Iran visited the hospital for bladder discomfort and unexpectedly underwent surgery to remove a massive stone the size of an ostrich egg. According to science media outlet Live Science on the 7th, a 35-year-old Iranian man visited a urology clinic complaining of bladder discomfort. He had no trouble urinating and no history of surgery or illness. He didn't even show symptoms of a urinary tract infection, such as frequent urination or a burning sensation. When doctors examined his abdomen, they felt a large, smooth, and hard lump above his pubic bone. This lump wasn't attached to the pelvis or abdominal wall. An ultrasound revealed an egg-shaped object about 11cm in diameter. Medical staff diagnosed it as an abnormally large bladder stone. Stones grow as minerals in urine accumulate into crystals, and about 85% are made of calcium.

"Netizens are horrified by the sheer size of the stone, with some cracking jokes about 'laying an egg' and others wondering what kind of past-life karma could cause such a massive 'gourd seed' to grow inside someone."
