Aren't passengers entitled to control the taxi heater?

(I used the word 'right' in the title to make it easier to understand, but I couldn't think of a better word. It might sound a bit entitled, but that's not my intention.) I took a taxi a few days ago. Since it's winter, I was wearing thick clothes. I called a Kakao Taxi, and as soon as I got in, it was so dry and hot—it felt like they'd had the heater blasting for ages. Even after taking off my coat, I was still roasting, so I asked, 'Driver, could you please turn off the heater?' The driver was an older man, and he goes, 'The heater? But it's cold...' I don't think I'm being weird here. I get it if there are no passengers, but while I'm in the car, I'm the one receiving a service and paying for it, so I think things like the heater or AC should be adjusted to the customer's preference. He just said 'But it's cold' and kept it on, so I said, 'Driver, I'm really hot and it's too dry. If the customer wants it off, shouldn't you turn it off?' Then he says, 'We're sharing this car, I'm cold, do I really have to turn it off? I'll just turn it down a bit.' For me, it wasn't about the intensity; I hate the dryness and I was already feeling suffocated, so I said, 'I'd rather you just turn it off, not turn it down. Otherwise, I'll just open the window.' Then he complains, 'Why would I run the heater if you're gonna open the window?' This has happened to me once or twice before. If it's summer and a passenger is hot, the driver should turn on the AC even if they aren't hot, and I think the heater is the same. They can just turn it back on after I get out. Every time this happens, it makes me prejudiced against taxi drivers even though there are plenty of good ones out there. It just feels shitty. Why can't I be comfortable when I'm paying? Am I being too greedy? What do you guys think?

++ Edit: I seriously can't stand this. Looking at the comments is making me lose my mind, so I'm gonna say one thing. They say Nate Pann is full of broke people, and wow, look at all of you projecting yourselves onto a taxi driver lol. Is it because you've never taken a taxi that you don't get the situation? I paid my own money to enjoy a service; does it make sense for me to pay and feel uncomfortable? Look, if he's gonna put his own feelings about being cold first, he should stop working in the service industry for money and go do something else. If I asked a driver to turn off the noisy radio, would you say I'm overreacting then too? Then can I just blast my own music without earphones? It's my service and my time while I'm moving, and it doesn't hurt the next passenger, so who cares, right? If the seat is dirty because it hasn't been cleaned, should I call that out too? If I'm trying to sleep and he's loud on the phone, should I complain about that too? I usually let that stuff slide for the sake of being nice, but I'm telling him I'm hot and struggling, and he can't even turn off a heater? Is that such a huge sin? Am I riding for free? lol. It's not like I'm in the taxi for two or three hours. If you're gonna freeze to death from not having a heater on for a few minutes, you're basically one foot in the grave anyway, so stay cooped up at home. How do you even go outside? lol. Why the hell are people telling me to 'drive my own car' lol. Even when I drive my own car and give friends a free ride, I turn off the heater if they ask. But a driver whose job is driving and who gets paid can't turn it off because he's cold? Is that a joke? I guess a lot of you Nate Pann kids have parents who are taxi drivers. Figures—poor, pathetic things always reek of something foul lol.

"OP tries to vent about an 'entitled' taxi driver, gets absolutely cooked by the comments for being a Karen, and then goes on a legendary toxic rant class-shaming everyone on the platform."
