The current state of NVGs.

NVGs are gear that lets you see clearly even at night.

Specifically, there's a feature called 'Gain'—which is basically amplification or brightness. There's manual gain where you adjust it yourself, and auto-gain that maintains brightness automatically. This part is pretty straightforward.

Separate from that, there's a feature called 'Autogating.'

A lot of people don't really know the difference between having it and not having it.

But luckily, there's a perfect GIF/image comparing the presence and absence of autogating.

Basically, excluding the standard protection features of the intensifier tube,
"While the OP is trying to give a technical lecture on NVG autogating, the community is busy getting trolled by a hidden 'Gengoro' meme hidden in a black image that only 'true' internet dwellers can spot."
